Mitchelton Park

Mitchelton Park on Osborne Road covers nearly 7.5 hectares of lawn and sports fields, a quiet neighbourhood park for an on-lead wander on Brisbane's north side.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council manages the park, and its local laws keep dogs on lead. Only a signed council off-leash area allows otherwise.

Around the park

Paths are a mix of concrete and grass, taking in open lawns and fields used by local clubs. Mature trees throw scattered shade across the grass.

Bins are in the park grounds. Taps are limited, so carry a bottle and a bowl, and use street parking on Osborne Road and the nearby streets.

Mitchelton sits near the upper Kedron Brook catchment, so the park also works as a starting point for a longer on-lead walk.

When to go

Pick a time when the club fields are quiet if your dog is easily distracted. In summer, keep to the shaded patches of grass.
