Millennium Parklands Shared Path

The Millennium Parklands shared path runs through the northern end of Sydney Olympic Park into Wentworth Point, past restored wetlands, mangroves and tidal saltmarsh on Homebush Bay and the Parramatta River. Dogs are welcome on a lead, on the sealed path only.

Lead rules

Sydney Olympic Park Authority requires dogs on a lead at all times on the shared paths. Dogs are banned from wetlands, sensitive wildlife habitat and unpaved bushland, so stick to the sealed tracks.

The walk

The path is wide, sealed and smooth enough for prams and any pace. Views open onto the bay and river, with lookouts such as the Bay Marker at Wentworth Common.

Mature trees, shelters and shaded hillsides help, but the open waterfront stretches get hot. Bins are along the path, and there are bubblers near Wentworth Common and the Peninsula Park path.

Getting started

Street parking and parking bays are close to Wentworth Common and other park entrances. Wentworth Point is a very dog-minded neighbourhood, so expect plenty of company.

Max: Bikes share this path. Keep the lead short, and stay on the seal where the wetlands start.

Make a day of it

Finish with a coffee at Iluka on Baywater in Wentworth Point, or cross to Rhodes for Bare Witness.

On hot days go early or late, when the exposed waterfront is kinder to paws.
