Mays Hill Reserve

Mays Hill Reserve on Franklin Street is a shady, low-key community park where a lead walk comes with everything you need on site: water, seating and toilets. Dogs must stay on a lead.

Lead rules

The City of Parramatta manages the reserve under standard companion animal rules. There is no off-lead area here.

The walk

Paved paths cross open lawns, past tennis courts, picnic tables and benches. Large mature trees throw plenty of shade, and the grounds also hold the historic Mays Hill Cemetery, which gives the place a quiet, respectful feel.

Water and facilities

There is a public drinking fountain in the reserve and toilets on site. Street parking is usually easy to find.

Pepsi: Shade, benches and a fountain. Easy to linger here on a hot afternoon.

Make a day of it

For a longer walk, the People's Loop Trail in Parramatta is close by.

If your dog wants off-lead time, nearby Freame Park is a Cumberland City Council off-leash area. Keep 10 metres clear of its playground. Mays Hill itself suits calm dogs and slower walkers.
