Marino Rocks Greenway

The Marino Rocks Greenway runs beside the Adelaide to Seaford railway from the city down to Marino Rocks, at the northern edge of Hallett Cove. At its southern end it meets the Coast to Vines Rail Trail.

Lead rules

Dogs are allowed on the shared paths and reserves along the greenway, on a lead. If you detour into Hallett Cove Conservation Park, stricter rules apply, so check the signs before you go in.

The walk

Most of the dedicated path is smooth asphalt, with some quiet on-road sections for bikes. The corridor passes city streets, linear green strips and neighbourhood reserves beside the working rail line.

It crosses several council areas, including Adelaide City, Unley, Marion and Holdfast Bay, so pick one section rather than the whole thing.

Bring your own

This is a commuter route as well as a recreation path, so expect bikes and keep your dog on the inside. Bring water for the dog on warm days.

Make a day of it

For off-lead time near the southern end, try Reserve Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park, or add the Trott Park Trail as a second walk.

Who it suits

The smooth asphalt suits older dogs and steady walkers who are happy near trains and bikes.
