Laycock Street Reserve

Laycock Street Reserve gives Cranebrook dog owners a paved, easy stroll on the edge of the Greygums Oval sports precinct. Dogs are welcome, but they stay on lead here.

Lead rules

Penrith City Council looks after the reserve. Leads go on along the paths and across the open grass, and off-lead play belongs in the designated off-leash areas elsewhere in the district.

The walk

Concrete and asphalt paths run beside wide, manicured playing fields under tall floodlights. Further along Laycock Street the walk picks up water views, and several entry points let you join or leave wherever suits.

Some trees throw partial shade, but plenty of the route sits in full sun. Bins sit at access points, and accessible off-street parking is available near the reserve entries.

Pepsi: Dog bubblers are thin on the ground along the path, so pack a bottle and a bowl.

Make a day of it

If your dog still needs a proper run, the Jordan Springs Fenced Dog Park is the fenced option, and Parx Coffee House covers the coffee.

Go early or late in summer when the open stretches are cooler. Flat, sealed paths make this a comfortable choice for older dogs and for walks with a pram alongside.
