Lamberts Beach Lookout Walk

Lamberts Beach Lookout on Pacific Esplanade gives Slade Point a wide view of the Pacific, offshore islands and, in season, humpback whales passing by. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Lead rules

Mackay Regional Council manages the lookout park. Dogs must be on a leash and under effective control here and on the beach paths.

Off-lead areas in the region are separate signed parks and beaches, such as Bucasia Beach and Northern Far Beach.

The walk

Paved paths around the lookout give way to dirt, grass and sandy coastal tracks further along, with access down to Lamberts Beach.

Next door, Ram Chandra Park adds shaded lawns, trees and a pavilion, with bins by the barbecue areas. Bring water, a bowl and your own bags.

Parking is on site at the lookout, with more along Pacific Esplanade by Ram Chandra Park.

When to go

Ocean breezes help, but most of the shade is back in the park, so mornings are the comfortable time. The paved stretch near the lookout suits older dogs.
