Labrador Foreshore

The Labrador foreshore, known locally as the Marine Parade foreshore walk, runs beside the Gold Coast Broadwater with calm water the whole way. Dogs walk the path on a lead and can swim off lead at Len Fox Park.

Leads and the off-lead area

City of Gold Coast rules keep dogs on a lead on the paved shared path and the general foreshore areas.

The foreshore beside Len Fox Park is a signed off-leash area, where dogs can paddle and swim in the Broadwater under effective control. Dogs are not allowed in the children's playground zones.

The walk

The path is wide, paved and flat, shared with runners and cyclists. Watch for boats on the water and pelicans gathering near Ian Dipple Lagoon.

Water, shade and parking

Public taps sit within the foreshore parklands and bins run along Marine Parade. Big trees and shade sails near the playgrounds help, though parts of the path are open to the sky.

Park on Marine Parade or at the boat ramp car park on the corner of Wilson Street. Toilets are at both ends of Len Fox Park, and outdoor showers take care of a sandy dog.

Pepsi: The Broadwater at Len Fox Park is calm and shallow enough for a proper swim. Rinse off at the showers after.

When to go

The park is a busy community hub, so early mornings are easiest if your dog prefers space. It suits water-loving dogs of every size.
