Kings Road Reserve Shared Path

Kings Road Reserve in Parafield Gardens is a local open space beside the Parafield Gardens Recreation Centre, with paths skirting the lawns and the community BMX track. What makes it useful is the clock: after hours, dogs can come off the lead.

Lead rules by the clock

The City of Salisbury sets the rules. From 8am to 6.30pm, dogs must be on a lead no longer than two metres.

From 6.30pm to 8am, dogs may be off the lead if they stay under effective control and close to you. Fenced playgrounds are dog free at all times.

The walk

Paths are a mix of concrete, asphalt and compacted surfaces around open grass. It is a neighbourhood circuit, not a long trail, so bring water for the dog.

Make a day of it

For a fenced run, Baltimore Reserve Fenced Dog Park is nearby. Coffee is at Morning Light Cafe.

When to go

Early morning or evening, inside the off-lead window, is the time to come. Give the BMX track a wide berth when riders are out.
