Overnewton Castle Walking Track

Overnewton Castle, the 1849 Scottish baronial homestead in Keilor, looks down over Taylor's Creek, and the walking track below follows the creek past it. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Lead rules

Brimbank City Council manages the area. Dogs must stay on lead in public open space and near paths and reserves unless a sign says otherwise.

The walk

Parts of the route are concrete path along Taylor's Creek, with unpaved earth track on the extensions. The creek is lined with trees, and the castle estate sits above it.

Pepsi: The castle views are the treat here. Pack a water bowl and take it slow along the creek.

For off-lead play, Taylors Lakes Dog Park and the Delahey Enclosed Off-leash Dog Park are the nearest choices.

When to go

The concrete sections are the easiest going for older dogs, while the earth extensions suit dogs keen for a bit more.
