Delahey Enclosed Off-leash Dog Park

Delahey Enclosed Off-leash Dog Park on Goldsmith Avenue is a fully fenced, purpose-built off-leash space that opened in 2025, giving Brimbank locals a secure spot to let dogs run without a lead.

The dog setup

The whole area is enclosed by a complete perimeter fence with double-gate entry and dual street frontages, and it is split into a general run zone plus a smaller separate section for small or shy dogs. Use that second zone if your dog gets overwhelmed by bigger playmates.

Dogs must stay under effective voice control even inside the fence. Clean up immediately using the waste dispensers and bins provided, and if a dog turns aggressive, leash up and leave straight away.

Worth knowing

The build was mapped around underground utilities and native vegetation, so expect a landscaped feel with established trees rather than a bare paddock, plus all-weather surfacing designed for heavy use.

There are drinking fountains for both dogs and people, benches for sitting and watching, and natural rummaging areas for sniffers. There are no public toilets inside the fence, so plan ahead.

Getting there

The park sits at 59 Goldsmith Avenue, on the corner with Coleridge Drive, reached off the Calder Freeway via Sydenham Road. Street parking runs along Goldsmith Avenue and the surrounding residential streets. Watergardens is the nearest train station about five to seven minutes away by car, so this is really a car or local-walk destination.

When to go

Tuesday and Saturday mornings draw the biggest crowds. Weekday afternoons and evenings, and Sunday evenings, quieten down and suit nervous dogs who would rather settle in without a crush at the gate.
