Small, calm and planted for quiet, the Garden of Tranquility on Tourist Drive 9 in Jamberoo is a place for a slow sniff rather than a big walk. Dogs are welcome on lead, which suits a low-key village garden.
The stroll
Firm paths wind between clipped shrubs, lawns and garden beds, with mature trees giving patches of shade on sunny days. It is short, so treat it as a leg-stretch or a quiet ten minutes for a dog that finds busy parks too much.
There is no dedicated dog water in the garden, so bring a bottle and a bowl. Street parking is on the village roads nearby.
Leads and the off-lead option
Keep the lead on in the garden. Kiama Municipal Council runs a separate fenced off-lead area, the Jamberoo Dog Park, near Kevin Walsh Oval, with water and bag dispensers.
Make a day of it
Let the dog run at Jamberoo Dog Park, then finish with a coffee at The Valley Cafe Jamberoo.
