Jackadder Lake Reserve

Jackadder Lake Reserve in Woodlands wraps a flat concrete path all the way around the lake, with waterbirds, lawns and shade trees along the way. Dogs can be off lead under effective control unless signs say otherwise.

Lead rules

The City of Stirling lets dogs exercise off lead in its standard parks and reserves, and Jackadder Lake falls under that policy. Watch for local signs that restrict it, and keep your dog close by the playground.

The walk

The path is continuous, sealed and well kept, so it suits dogs of any age or fitness. Mature trees give shade in patches, but some stretches are open to the sun.

It is a well-used community loop, shared with regular dog-walking groups, and the birdlife keeps noses busy.

Water, bins and parking

Dog waste bins and bags are placed around the reserve. Public water can be spaced out, so bring a bottle and bowl. There is free parking at several entry points and on the surrounding streets.

Max: Waterbirds are everywhere here. If your dog chases, keep the lead on even where off-lead is allowed.

A quick morning or evening lap is the sweet spot.
