Esperanca cafe

Esperanca is a small, well-liked breakfast and lunch cafe on St Brigids Terrace, a little back from the Scarborough beachfront. Its shaded footpath seating makes it a comfortable spot to bring a dog along for coffee or a meal.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor alfresco seating along the frontage, not inside. The footpath area is shaded, which helps in summer. Staff are accommodating, but it is worth packing your own water bowl rather than relying on one being out.

Good to know. It is known for a strong breakfast and lunch menu with a good vegetarian and vegan range, fresh juices and well-rated coffee. Closed Mondays; open from early Tuesday to Sunday.

Nearby with the dogs. The footpath down toward the coast leads to the Scarborough foreshore for a post-coffee walk, and Peasholm Dog Beach is a short drive for an off-leash run.
