Drift Kitchen

Drift Kitchen is a relaxed, Scandi-leaning brunch and coffee spot on Calais Road, set back from the Scarborough beachfront with a dedicated dog-friendly courtyard. It is one of the easier local cafes to sit at with a dog thanks to the shaded outdoor space.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard and alfresco seating, not inside the main cafe. The courtyard has shade and is reached by the side-street access, so you are not threading a dog through the dining room. Water bowls are usually out in the outdoor area; bring your own to be safe.

Good to know. It is known for specialty coffee, brunch and takeaway, and is licensed if you want a drink with the meal. The vibe is casual and local, away from the foreshore bustle.

Getting there. 16a Calais Road, Scarborough. There is free off-street parking plus street parking, and it is walkable from the Scarborough Beach area.

Nearby with the dogs. Abbett Park Reserve has a fenced off-leash run nearby, and the Peasholm Dog Beach foreshore is a short trip for a walk before or after.
