Ingleburn Reserve Walking Trail

The Ingleburn Reserve walking trail is short, just 400 metres return, but it takes you down through bushland to the Georges River gorge and the historic Ingleburn Weir. Dogs come along on a lead.

Lead rules

Campbelltown City Council allows dogs on a lead at Ingleburn Reserve. It is not an off-leash area, and dogs must stay more than 10 metres from play equipment.

The walk

This is a medium-grade track with a loose, rocky, unsealed surface and sandstone steps. It descends through endangered Shale Sandstone Transition Forest to the river, and the canopy keeps most of it shaded.

Max: Loose rock and sandstone steps on the way down. Keep the lead short and let your dog pick its footing.

Getting started

There is on-site parking off Bensley Road. Near the picnic area you will find water bubblers, bins, barbecues, sheltered tables and a renovated toilet block, so a walk and a picnic fit together easily.

Who it suits

Fit dogs that enjoy a scramble. The steps and loose surface make it hard going for older dogs, even over this short distance.
