Kennett Park Fenced Dog Park

Kennett Park is a fully fenced leash-free dog park on Newtown Road in Glenfield, in Sydney's south-west under Campbelltown City Council. Sitting beside the main Kennett Park sports precinct, it is a practical neighbourhood option, and the floodlighting sets it apart: this is one of the few local spots where a safe off-leash session still works well after dark.

The dog setup

The off-leash area is fully enclosed by perimeter fencing, so it suits dogs still working on recall or owners who simply want the escape risk gone. Keep the lead on until you are through the gate, stay inside with your dog and keep them under effective control, and carry bags for the bins provided. Council rules keep aggressive dogs and bitches in heat out of the off-leash area. Everywhere outside the fence, including the adjacent sports fields and walking paths, is on leash.

What's on site

There is a dedicated agility course for structure, a doggy bubbler for water, shaded seating for owners, waste bins and on-site parking. The gaps are human ones: no public toilets and no facilities for people beyond a seat, so sort yourself out before you arrive. Glenfield Station and the town centre are a short drive away.

When to go

Weekdays are quieter, while early mornings and late afternoons bring the regulars. The lights keep the park busy well into the evening in winter, so a midday weekday visit is your best shot at having the space to yourselves.

Close by with the dogs

For a second fenced option, Milton Park Fenced Dog Park at Macquarie Fields is a few minutes away, and the Koala Walk Reserve at Ingleburn adds an on-leash bushland walk.
