Bardia Fenced Dog Park

Bardia Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, all-hours off-leash park on Mount Olympus Street in Sydney's south-west, tucked into a quiet residential cul-de-sac. It is a modern, single-enclosure park with agility equipment and lighting across the grounds, which makes it one of the few local options that works as an evening run as well as a daytime one.

The rules

Dogs run off-leash inside the fence and owners keep control of them throughout. Entry runs through a double-gated system, which does the quiet work of stopping escapes while someone else arrives or leaves; still glance at the latch before you unclip. There is one shared enclosure for all sizes, no small-dog and large-dog split, so watch how your dog handles mixed company. Bag dispensers and a bin are on site and picking up is expected.

What's there

The block is grassy and gently sloping, with established trees throwing real shade and a bitumen path if you would rather keep your feet dry and firm. Agility gear covers tunnels, ramps and weave poles for dogs that want a job, there is a shaded seating area for owners, and a water station with a dog bowl. The lighting is the standout: after-dark visits are genuinely practical here.

The vibe

Weekday mornings and afternoons are the quiet windows, and weekends, especially Saturday evenings, bring the most dogs. Because the space is shared across sizes, regulars tend to keep an eye on their own dogs rather than assuming the enclosure sorts everyone out. First-timers should expect a friendly neighbourhood crowd rather than a destination park scene.

Getting there

Set your GPS for Mount Olympus Street, Bardia, and take free on-street parking right alongside the park. Nothing signposts it from the main road, so the cul-de-sac is easy to miss on a first visit. Edmondson Park railway station is within walking distance if you are arriving without a car.
