Iluka Foreshore Path

The Iluka Foreshore Path runs along limestone cliffs above the Indian Ocean, with views over Marmion Marine Park most of the way. It is an on-lead walk, and a smooth one.

Lead rules

The City of Joondalup requires dogs on a lead along the coastal dual-use path and through the foreshore reserves. Save off-lead running for a designated dog beach.

Cyclists share the path, so keep the lead short on the bends.

The walk

The sealed path winds through coastal bushland and links north toward Burns Beach, so you can make it as long as you like. Much of it is exposed to sun and wind.

Shaded seats, gazebos and grass sit around the main Iluka Foreshore Park, along with bins, toilets and the car park off Burns Beach Road.

Foreshore redevelopment may close parts of the path for a time, so watch for signs.

Make a day of it

Sistas Burns Beach Cafe & Restaurant in Iluka is the obvious stop, or head inland to Fern Avenue Cafe in Currambine.

When to go

With little shade on the clifftop, early morning is best through summer, and bring water for the dog. The smooth surface suits dogs of any age.
