Golden Wattle Way Trail

There is no trail signed as the Huntfield Heights Wetlands. What locals walk is the Golden Wattle Way Trail, which strings linear reserves through Huntfield Heights, Hackham West and Morphett Vale up to the Brodie Road Wetlands. Dogs go on lead.

Lead rules

The City of Onkaparinga expects dogs on a lead in its linear parks and reserves unless a sign says otherwise. The off-lead option nearby is the Dinton Farm dog exercise park in Huntfield Heights.

The walk

It is an easy suburban trail on shared bitumen and concrete paths. You pass gently sloping grassed reserves and local playgrounds, then wetland plantings as you head north towards Brodie Road.

With playgrounds along the way, keep the lead short past the play equipment.

Make a day of it

Let the dog stretch out at Dinton Farm Reserve Fenced Dog Park first, then walk the trail calmly. Orange Basket Cafe in Hackham is nearby for a break.

The paved surface suits older dogs and walks with a pram. Bring water for the dog.
