Gribble Creek Walk and Cycle Way

Gribble Creek Walk and Cycle Way threads through Kalgoorlie past old streetscapes, native bush and parkland. The deciding fact for dog owners is that parts of it are designated off-leash exercise areas.

Leads and the off-lead area

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder requires dogs on a lead in general, but some stretches along Gribble Creek are signed for off-leash exercise. These include the section between Johnston, Kingsmill and Wittenoom Streets and the area around Speculation and the racecourse.

Outside those stretches, clip the lead back on.

The walk

Most of the route is sealed path, with some cleared track through bushland. Along the way it passes historic town streets, native plantings and open parkland, including the Kalgoorlie Arboretum and Centennial Park.

When to go

Cool mornings are the pick for a longer walk here. The off-leash stretches make it a good fit for young, energetic dogs with reliable recall. Bring water for the dog.
