Grange Lakes Shared Use Path

The Grange Lakes Shared Use Path strings together drainage lakes, wetland plantings and reserves through Grange toward Henley Beach and West Lakes. It is sealed and 2.5 metres wide, with dogs on lead on the path and off-lead chances in the reserves beside it.

Leads and the reserves

City of Charles Sturt rules require dogs on a lead of 2 metres or less on shared paths. In adjoining parks and reserves, dogs may be off lead if under effective control, within sight and responding to voice.

Leads go back on within 5 metres of playground equipment, during organised sport on the ovals and in signed sensitive areas.

The walk

The path follows the lakes past birdlife, native plantings and open green space, including Kirkcaldy Reserve. It continues toward West Lakes and the coast if you want a longer outing.

Trees shade parts of the corridor, but open wetland stretches take full sun. Bins sit near entry points and benches, so just carry water for the dog.

Getting started

Street parking is easy near Jetty Street, Chambers Street, and Fort Street by Military Road.

Make a day of it

Detour into Kirkcaldy Reserve, then finish with a coffee at The Spare Room in Grange.

Flat and paved from end to end, it suits older dogs and prams.
