Henley Breeze Café

Henley Breeze Cafe sits at 303 Seaview Road, metres from the sand and a short walk north of Henley Square in Adelaide's west. It is a relaxed, family-run spot that takes its coffee and cake seriously, and the reason to bring the dog is simple: the outdoor seating runs alongside the coastal path, so you can pull up straight off a beach walk without leaving anyone tied to a post.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area only, with the tables set along the footpath and coastal path so there is room to tuck a dog under the table and out of the foot traffic. The cafe keeps treats on hand for visiting dogs and regulars mention the friendly, pat-heavy service, but bring your own water bowl to be safe. Inside is people only.

Worth knowing

It is fully licensed and runs all-day breakfast and lunch, with homemade muffins and cakes, piadina, smashed avo and banana bread, plus vegan options. Hours are 6am to 2pm Wednesday to Monday, closed Tuesdays. The atmosphere is casual and community-minded rather than polished, which suits a sandy dog, and the path-side tables mean a waiting dog stays part of the action.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Seaview Road but fills on weekends and sunny days, so the easier play is to walk in along the coastal path. On the beach itself, City of Charles Sturt rules put dogs on lead between 10am and 8pm during daylight saving, with off-lead times outside those hours, so check the signage at your access point. For another table nearby, Sunnyside Cafe on the Esplanade or Luma Coffee Club both take dogs outdoors.
