Grange Jetty to Henley Square

The coast path from Grange Jetty to Henley Square is about 2 kilometres of sealed shared path above the Gulf St Vincent, with a jetty and a café strip at each end. Dogs are welcome, but on the path they stay on lead.

Leads on the path

The City of Charles Sturt requires dogs on a lead no longer than 2 metres on footpaths and Coast Park paths. The reserve path between Grange Road and Marlborough Street, and all of Henley Square, are on-lead at all times.

The beach below has its own council rules, which can change with the season, so read the signs before heading onto the sand.

The walk

The paved path runs along the dunes with open sea views the whole way, past beachfront homes and busy coastal spots. It's exposed, though shelters and the cafés at either end give a break from the sun.

Bins are spaced along the Esplanade and at beach access points, and bubblers with dog bowls turn up at intervals along the path.

Getting started

Street parking, some paid and some free, sits near both Grange Jetty and Henley Square. It fills fast on weekends and warm days.

Pepsi: Start at one jetty and finish at the other, then let the café at the far end be the reward.

When to go

Go early on a summer morning, before the path heats up and the parking goes. The flat, sealed surface suits dogs of any age.
