Edward Bennett Oval

A new two-metre-wide sealed path now loops Edward Bennett Oval in Cherrybrook, giving the neighbourhood an even, on-lead circuit framed by tall eucalypts.

Lead rules

Hornsby Shire Council requires dogs on a lead on the circuit and around the park. They must stay 10 metres from the fenced playground and off the oval during organised sport.

The circuit

The path circles the sports field past landscaped earth mounds and the new fenced play tower. Recent upgrades added shade sails and more trees around the perimeter and play area.

Drinking fountains are part of the upgraded precinct, and there are toilets, picnic shelters, barbecues and bins nearby.

Max: Match days change the rules here. If a game is on, keep your dog on the path and well clear of the field.

For an off-lead run, Greenway Park Fenced Dog Park is close by. For coffee, try Benzin Cafe in Dural.

Free street parking sits beside the oval. The smooth, flat surface suits older dogs and anyone pushing a pram.
