Orphan School Creek Shared Path

Bush regeneration and remnant native plants follow Orphan School Creek through the Fairfield area, with a paved shared path that starts near Coonawarra Street in Edensor Park. It is on lead from end to end.

Lead rules

Fairfield City Council requires dogs to be on a lead at all times in public reserves and on paths. They can only come off lead inside designated off-lead enclosures.

The walk

The path is a concrete cycleway shared by walkers and cyclists, which makes for easy walking in any weather.

Along the creek line you pass native bushland under regeneration and remnant local flora, which the council highlights on its guided walks.

Max: Keep the dog on the path through the regeneration areas. The young plantings are easily trampled.

For off-lead time, the Fairfield Showground Fenced Dog Park is nearby, or try Wakeley Dog Park.

When to go

The sealed path suits older dogs and prams. Go early in summer, and carry water for the dog.
