Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park

Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park sits on the corner of Elizabeth Drive and Smithfield Road in Edensor Park, and its paved 1.3 km loop makes an easy on-lead circuit for the Bonnyrigg side of Fairfield.

Lead rules

Dogs are welcome, but Fairfield City Council requires them on a lead here. This is a general public park rather than an off-leash area, so the lead stays on for the whole loop.

The walk

The path is concrete and wheelchair accessible, which suits prams, older dogs and anyone after a predictable surface. Along the way you pass community art, the Elders Garden and a bush tucker path that reflects the area's Indigenous heritage.

There is also a skate park and a playground, so expect kids and scooters around those corners and give them room.

Water and shade

Scattered mature trees give patchy shade between open lawns. Bins are spread around the grounds and bubblers sit near the main play areas, but carry a bottle for the dog.

Parking is on site or in the streets alongside.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead run, Wilson Park Fenced Dog Park in Bonnyrigg Heights is the local fenced option. Mili & Co. Cafe in Cecil Hills is nearby for a coffee afterwards.

Go early on summer mornings, before the open lawns heat up. It works best as a short daily loop, or a walk tied in with errands at the nearby shops.
