Dundundra Falls Loop

Dundundra Falls Loop is a short bush walk in Terrey Hills that ends at a small waterfall and rock pool on Kierans Creek, and unlike the national park next door, dogs are allowed on a lead.

Lead rules

The reserve is Crown land run by a volunteer land manager group. Dogs must stay on a lead the whole way.

Nearby parts of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park ban dogs completely, so keep to this reserve.

The walk

Plan on roughly 1.5 to 2 km in total. You start on the Larool Trail fire trail, then drop into the gully on natural bush tracks with some rough dirt and rock sections.

Heavy canopy shades most of the way, and wildflowers brighten the bush in season.

Getting started

Park on the unsealed verge near Aumuna Road and Larool Road. There are no bins or water at the start, so bring water and a bowl and carry your bags home.

After rain the pool at the bottom is a good spot for a splash.

Pepsi: The pool at the bottom is best after a bit of rain. Pack a towel for the car.

Go after a wet spell for the best falls. Surefooted dogs will manage the rocky parts easily.
