Curtis Wetlands

Two easy loops circle the ponds at Curtis Wetlands in Munno Para, one about 900 metres and a longer one of roughly 1.4 kilometres. Dogs are welcome on lead, and the wide, smooth paths make this one of the simplest wetland walks in Playford.

Lead rules

The City of Playford requires dogs to be on a lead no longer than two metres, and the wetland areas are specifically on-lead. Keep the lead short where birds gather near the water.

The walk

Paths are wide bitumen or compacted gravel, flat enough for prams and wheelchairs as well as dogs. Along the way you pass the ponds, landscaped open grass, benches and a playground.

Parts of the loops are open to the sun, though there are picnic shelters and some shade. Drinking fountains and bins are on site, but a portable bowl is still worth carrying.

Entry and parking are off Curtis Road and Douglas Drive. Some walking guides list the site as Munno Para Wetlands.

Make a day of it

If your dog needs an off-lead run afterwards, Blakes Crossing Pooch Park and Fremont Large Dog Park are both fenced options nearby.

When to go

Go early or late on warm days, since parts of the loop are exposed. The short loop suits older dogs and puppies, and the longer one gives fitter dogs a little more.
