Cornubia Forest Park

Cornubia Forest Park, in Cornubia right next to Tanah Merah, packs creek-side bushland into a shaded 1.4 kilometre circuit. Dogs are welcome on lead, and the fig and gum canopy keeps it cool.

Leads on

Dogs must stay on a leash at all times on the tracks. The park is part of the Cornubia Forest Nature Refuge, home to wallabies, bandicoots and water dragons, and Logan City Council manages it.

The walk

The main circuit is a wide, easy-grade compacted path that suits prams and walking aids. It crosses small wooden bridges over the creek, where water dragons like to sun themselves.

Dirt and rocky singletracks branch off for mountain bikers, so keep dogs close wherever the paths meet.

Water and parking

There is no dog water on the internal tracks, and bins sit near the entry points, so bring water and bags. Free street parking is at the Parkview Crescent and Collie Street entrances.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead run afterwards, Tansey Park Fenced Dog Park in Tanah Merah is the local choice.

When to go

The thick canopy makes this one of the better summer walks around, and the flat circuit suits older dogs.
