Centennial Park

Centennial Park is Albany's main sporting precinct, a suburb of its own right beside Mount Melville. Dogs get two options here, open playing fields that double as off-leash space and a fenced dog park with three separate zones.

Where dogs can be off lead

The City of Albany allows dogs off-leash on the green fields and parkland of the central sporting precinct, between Lockyer Avenue and Sanford Road, whenever they are not in use for organised sport.

The fenced dog park is off-leash too. Everywhere else in Centennial Park, dogs must be on a lead at all times.

The walk

Paved paths link the ovals, with boardwalk sections running past water and native plantings. It is flat and easy, good for a relaxed lap between play sessions.

Parking surrounds the precinct, with public toilets near the main areas and bins through the sporting grounds. Bring water for the dog.

When to go

Check for fixtures before you go, since the fields are only off-leash when sport is not on. Game days are when the fenced dog park earns its keep.
