Murray Farm Reserve

Murray Farm Reserve in Carlingford, on the West Pennant Hills side, wraps a concrete circuit path around big sports fields. It is a flat, predictable on-lead walk that works for prams and senior dogs.

Lead rules

The City of Parramatta manages the reserve, and dogs must stay on lead. This is an active sports ground, not an off-leash park.

The walk

The path loops the multi-use fields used for seasonal baseball and football, with open grass and trees around the edges. The surface is even concrete the whole way.

Shade is limited to the trees along the boundary. The path and fields are mostly out in the sun.

Water and parking

Drinking fountains sit near the amenities and sports areas, and bins ring the ground. Park on site through the main entrance off Murray Farm Road and Carmen Drive.

Make a day of it

For off-lead time, Colbarra Place Reserve Fenced Dog Park is close by in West Pennant Hills. For a different walk, try the Burraga Track.

When to go

Pick times outside organised sport, when the ground is quieter, and go early in summer given how little shade there is.
