Westside Bikeway

In Camden Park, the dog walk worth knowing is the Westside Bikeway, a flat sealed greenway along the old Holdfast Bay railway line. Dogs are welcome on a lead, and a fenced dog park sits along the same path.

Lead rules

The City of West Torrens requires dogs on a lead on the shared path. For off-lead time, head to the West Torrens Dog Park in Marleston, beside the bikeway at Moss Avenue and Tennyson Street.

The walk

The path is wide, flat bitumen, fine for prams and wheelchairs as well as dogs. It runs as a tree-lined corridor between houses, small playgrounds and the outdoor gym at Creslin Terrace.

Water and shade

Drinking fountains are placed along the corridor, and shade structures cover the playground at Creslin Terrace. Many of the trees are still young, so parts of the path are exposed.

Street parking is right off Creslin Terrace.

Max: It is a shared path, so keep the lead short and your dog on your side when bikes come through.

Make a day of it

Stop at Tweety Bird Cafe or Incognito Cafe in Plympton for a coffee on the way home.

Early mornings beat the heat on this open corridor. It suits older dogs and anyone after an easy, continuous walk.
