Brays Bay Reserve

Brays Bay Reserve follows the Parramatta River beside Concord Road in Rhodes, with calm water views most of the way. Dogs walk here on lead, and the smooth paths join straight onto longer riverside routes.

Leads and where to run

The City of Canada Bay Council permits dogs in the reserve on a lead. It is not an off-leash space.

For off-lead time, the council's nearby options include Lower Phoenix Park on Shoreline Drive, a double-gated fenced area with a water station, and the fenced dog area at King George V Park.

The walk

Paths are mostly paved concrete with some mixed walking track, running along the waterfront past open lawns and family play areas. Mature trees give patchy shade along the way.

The reserve links with the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway and McIlwaine Park next door, so a short stroll can easily become a long one.

Getting started

Parking is available near Concord Road and Mary Street, and public toilets are on Mary Street. Bubblers and bins are in the reserve, though a bowl for the dog is still handy.

Pair it with

Keep going on the Rhodes Circuit for a longer loop, or finish with a coffee at Cafe Botanica.

It suits dogs that are settled on a lead near family play areas, and the flat, smooth paths are kind to older legs.
