Rhodes Circuit

Flat, paved and about 11 kilometres around, the Rhodes Circuit follows the Parramatta River foreshore past parks and apartment towers, with dogs on lead for most of the way.

Lead rules

The City of Canada Bay allows dogs on lead along the public foreshore and reserve paths. For off-lead play, head to a designated area such as Lower Phoenix Park.

The walk

The route is continuous concrete path and boardwalk, pram and wheelchair friendly, with a good part of it along Shoreline Drive. You can do the full loop or just a section from the nearest entry.

Shade comes and goes. The stretches past apartment and commercial plazas are open, while the parks and waterfront reserves have mature trees.

Water and parking

Bubblers with dog bowls sit along the busier foreshore paths, especially near Phoenix Park and Shoreline Drive, and bins are frequent. Parking is paid or timed on the street, with commercial car parks around Rhodes Waterside.

Pair it with

Break the loop at Lower Phoenix Park Fenced Dog Park for an off-lead run, then refuel at Cafe Botanica.

When to go

At 11 kilometres the full loop is a long outing, so on a hot day start early and plan a break in the shaded parks. The smooth surface is easy on older dogs if you pick a shorter section.
