Boorooma Wetlands follows a creek line through the northern Wagga Wagga suburb of Boorooma, a short natural track where the draw is birdlife rather than distance. Dogs stay on lead here.
Leads and the off-lead area
The City of Wagga Wagga treats the wetland path as an on-lead walk, so keep your dog clipped on and check the signs at the entry. If your dog needs a proper run, the fenced off-lead area inside Explorer Park is in the same estate.
That enclosure has a double-gate entry and sits higher up, with views over North Wagga.
The walk
Expect a natural earth track beside the creek, with native groundcover and plenty of waterbirds. No official length is published, so treat it as a short stroll and turn around when you have had enough.
Max: Waterbirds use creek lines like this one. Keep the lead short and your dog out of the reeds.

Grab a coffee at Hadley’s Cafe nearby, or add a paved leg on the Estella Road Shared Path.
When to go
Early mornings and evenings are best for birds and cooler ground. Bring water for the dog, as none is confirmed along the track.
