Arena Frog Sanctuary

Arena Frog Sanctuary is a small wetland walk inside Officer's Arena Estate, near Lagoon Row, where the path passes water birds, ducks and the odd frog. It is flat, paved and on lead, with a fenced dog park close by for off-lead play.

Lead rules

Cardinia Shire Council's standard park rules apply, so dogs stay on a lead around the wetland and along the estate paths. The place to let them run is the fully fenced dog park on Onyx Crescent, beside the frog reserve.

The walk

This is a short, easy residential path on a flat sealed surface, good for older dogs and for puppies still learning lead manners. Give the birds some room along the water's edge.

The fenced park

The enclosure is roughly 35 metres across, with water taps and bowls near the fence, bins and benches. Shade inside the pen is sparse.

A playground sits right next door, handy if you are walking kids and dogs together. Street parking is on Onyx Crescent and the surrounding streets.

In summer, go early or late in the day, since the fenced area has little shade.
