Anzac Park Loop

Anzac Park sits on Bells Parade in Somerset, looking out over the Cam River mouth to Bass Strait. Its short loop is a relaxed on-lead circuit, with a bubbler and parking right at hand.

Lead rules

Waratah-Wynyard Council manages the park, and dogs are welcome on a lead on the paths and open lawns. Follow any signs on site and keep your dog under effective control.

The loop

Paved, accessible paths wind past the war memorial, open grass and an inclusive playground, with river and sea views along the way. It is flat enough for older dogs and prams.

Water, shade and parking

There is a drinking bubbler in the park, and sheltered picnic spots and scattered trees give some shade. Bins are provided, though you should still carry your own bags.

Accessible parking sits right beside the park on Bells Parade.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead run, Somerset Dog Beach is the council's exercise stretch between Woody Point and Arthur Street, where dogs can run free under effective control. The council sets summer restrictions on some beaches, so check before you go.

Who it suits

It is a good short leg-stretch on a coastal drive, or a gentle walk for a senior dog. Mornings are quieter, before community events and families fill the lawns.
