1.6km Walkway / Cycle Path To The Beach

Vasse has its own paved run to the sea. From Napoleon Promenade, the 1.6km walkway and cycle path heads to Abbey Beach on a wide asphalt surface, passing under the Busselton Bypass so there is no traffic to cross.

Lead rules

Dogs stay on a lead. The City of Busselton's standard rules apply on public walkways and reserves unless an area is signed off-lead.

Once you reach the coast, beach zones carry their own seasonal and time-of-day rules, so read the signs before unclipping.

The walk

The path follows the Buayanyup drain past trees and open fields where kangaroos are often seen. The smooth surface is kind on paws and good for a brisk walk or jog.

Max: Kangaroos graze the fields beside the path. Keep the lead short and your grip firm through that stretch.

Water and shade

Parts of the corridor are exposed. Bins sit at the Napoleon Promenade end and near the RAC Busselton Holiday Park at the beach end, but few in between.

Carry water and a bowl for the middle section. Parking is near Napoleon Promenade at the start.

Make a day of it

Back in Vasse, Vasse Dog Park is there for a run, and Bohemian Brew for coffee.

In the warmer months, walk it early or late in the day.
