Sunlodge Tourist Park

Sunlodge Tourist Park is a caravan and cabin park at 26 Mant St in Point Vernon, across the road from the Hervey Bay foreshore. It is one of the few parks in the bay that markets itself squarely at travellers with dogs, with pet friendly cabins as well as pet friendly sites, and it has the guest ratings to match.

The vibe

This is a quiet, well-kept park rather than a resort. Guests praise the clean ensuites, the camp kitchen and the helpful owners, and the location across from the waterfront means morning and evening walks start at the gate. Being on the Point Vernon side puts you away from the Esplanade traffic at Torquay and Scarness while keeping every Hervey Bay attraction within a ten minute drive.

Getting there and parking

Mant Street runs off the Point Vernon foreshore road on the north-west side of Hervey Bay, about fifteen minutes from the airport. Sites have room for caravans and big rigs, with ensuite sites available.

Close by with the dogs

The Point Vernon foreshore between Aplin Street and The Pines Park is a 24-hour council off-leash zone, and the stretch from Ansons Road to the end of Spence Street is off lead too, so beach time is easy.
