BIG4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park

BIG4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park is a caravan and cabin park at 26 Corser St, Point Vernon, on the calm northern side of the bay, with beach access a couple of minutes' walk away, a camp kitchen, a games room and a magnesium pool. Dogs are welcome under defined conditions, and the one thing you cannot skip is advance approval from the park before you arrive.

Dogs at the park

Contact the park directly before booking to apply for your dog to be accepted, because approval is at the manager's discretion. Once approved, dogs stay in designated pet-friendly cabins or on powered sites, generally limited to one pet per booking unless you have arranged otherwise. A fee of around $15 per pet per night applies. On-site rules are standard holiday-park terms: dogs on a leash whenever they are outside your van, tent or pet-friendly cabin, never left unattended, and owners carry responsibility for any damage, mess or complaints. Management can ask guests with noisy or disruptive dogs to leave.

The park and the beach

Facilities cover a camp kitchen, BBQ areas, the magnesium pool, a games room and clean amenity blocks, and the beach at Point Vernon is close enough for a morning walk before breakfast. The wider bay has dedicated off-leash beach zones under Fraser Coast Regional Council's rules, including a 24-hour off-leash stretch at Scarness between Tooan Tooan Creek and the jetty, so there is proper running room a short drive away.

Close by with the dogs

Point Vernon's own Brew & View is a local cafe stop, the Pialba off-leash dog beach sits a few minutes north, and the Urangan public dog park gives a fenced option down the bay.
