Brew & View

Brew & View is a beach-themed cafe on the Esplanade at Point Vernon, sitting right on the Hervey Bay foreshore walking and cycling trail with water views across the bay. For dog owners it slots straight into the routine: walk or ride the Esplanade with the dog, then stop at the outdoor section for eggs benedict and a proper coffee while the bay does its thing.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating section, not inside. Keep your dog leashed and settled at your table so they stay out of the way of staff and other patrons. Water bowls are typically put out, but bring your own if your dog is fussy or you are visiting at a busy time. The deck suits a calm dog far better than a restless one.

Reviewers rate the outdoor seating and the relaxed coastal feel, and the coffee holds its own. It opens 6am to 1pm every day, so it is strictly a breakfast-and-lunch venue.

Pepsi: mornings are the pick here. You get a cooler deck for the dog and a quieter table, and the bay views are at their best before the wind picks up.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at 2/149 Esplanade, Point Vernon, with street parking along the Esplanade out front. It is an easy stop if you are already walking or cycling the foreshore trail, which runs directly past the door. Point Vernon Foreshore Reserve is a short walk away for an extra leg-stretch.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-leash window around your coffee, the Pialba off leash beach runs its own hours, so check before you go. Along the Esplanade, Decoy Cafe at Scarness and Spotted Goat Kitchen at Torquay are both solid second stops. Check council signage before letting your dog off leash anywhere on the foreshore.
