At Remingtons B & B Private Cottages

At Remingtons is a set of private, self-catering cottages on the Blackall Range at Montville, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It is rustic-luxury rather than a standard B&B: your own cottage with a fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen and wide views over the range, and dogs are welcome to stay with you.

Up to two small dogs are permitted per cottage. The conditions are explicit: dogs must be fully vaccinated and treated for fleas and ticks, must not be left unattended in the cottage, on the deck or in the yard, are strictly off the beds and furniture, and you need to clean up any waste from the grassed areas or car park before departure. Bring your own dog bedding and bowls. Fencing varies by cottage: the Shalalah cottage has a fenced area with a small yard, while the other accommodations are unfenced, so a leash is required outdoors on the grounds. The place

Cottages are set up for couples and quiet getaways, with fireplaces, views and privacy the recurring themes in guest feedback. The seclusion works in a settled dog's favour, but the no-unattended rule means your days need to be built around the dog rather than around long solo outings.

Getting there and parking

Montville sits on the ridge road through the Blackall Range, about 40 minutes inland from the Sunshine Coast. Montville village's Main Street, with its shops, cafes and lookouts, is minutes away for on-leash walks, and you park at your cottage.

Close by with the dogs

Plan around a leash: the national parks of the range, including Kondalilla Falls, ban dogs on all tracks, and the dedicated off-leash dog parks sit down the range in Nambour and the coastal council zones. The village streets and lookouts are the walking.
