Molong Showground & Golf Course

Molong Showground & Golf Course runs a quiet, budget campground on Euchareena Road at the edge of Molong, in Cabonne Shire northwest of Orange. Camping sits alongside the golf course fairways, and dogs are welcome in the camping area on a leash, which makes this a genuine option for travellers crossing the central west with a dog rather than boarding it somewhere.

There is no separate pet fee: camping fees apply as normal, which were $15 a night for an unpowered site and $20 for a powered site for two people on the show society's published schedule, with extra adults at $5 and children aged 2 to 12 at $2. Fee figures change from season to season, so confirm the current rate when you book. Kangaroos graze the golf course of an evening, so keep the leash handy if your dog has a high chase drive.

The vibe

This is paddock-style camping, no frills and pleasantly quiet: power and water at the powered sites, clean toilets and hot showers, a camp kitchen and fire pit access with wood often provided. Tents, camper trailers, caravans and RVs all fit. Guests rate it well for what it is, and the showground setting means space rather than a packed holiday park.
