Apex RiverBeach Holiday Park sits on a sandy bend of the Murray River at 435 Cureton Avenue, Mildura, with a genuine river beach on its doorstep. It is one of the more flexible dog-friendly parks in the region: pets are welcome on the sites and also in designated villas and cabins, not just on the grass, which puts it ahead of most river parks where dogs mean camping only.

Dogs are allowed on powered, unpowered and river-view sites, and in the designated pet-friendly one and two-bedroom villas plus the designated one-bedroom ensuite cabins. The catch is that not every cabin category takes dogs, so book a designated pet-friendly villa or cabin and confirm at the time of booking rather than after. Pet fees are not published, and size or breed conditions can apply, so ask both when you ring. Around the park the rules are the usual ones: dogs on a lead in common areas, owners cleaning up, and dogs kept out of shared facilities.

A practical touch for river holidays: the park has an on-site dog wash, which earns its keep after a sandy session on the river beach.

The park itself

The park runs among native trees down to the water, with a camp kitchen, fire pits and fire pit hire, clean amenities and well-equipped villas. Guests consistently point to the river view and the sandy beach as the reason to choose it. For a dog owner the shape of a day is easy: a morning splash across from your site, on-lead walks along the river frontage, and town a few minutes away for supplies.

Getting there and parking

Cureton Avenue follows the Murray on the southern bank below the Mildura town centre, so the park is only minutes from central Mildura by car while staying out of the traffic. Sites have room for a van plus car, and cabin guests park at their door. The beaches, houseboat ramps and river tracks along this stretch are all close by.

Close by with the dogs

For off-lead time in town, the Mildura Fenced Dog Park (Rio Vista Park) is the closest fenced run.
