The Bedhaha's

The Bedhaha's is a small collection of cottages at 12/39 Coral Street in Maleny, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, an easy five-minute walk from the town centre. At least one of the two-bedroom cottages is set up as a pet-friendly stay, which makes it a rare find this close to Maleny's shops and breweries, where most stays are on rural blocks well out of town.

The pet-friendly option is a two-bedroom cottage with wide verandahs, and dogs are welcome by arrangement with host Gillian, who manages the properties. Public listings do not publish a fixed pet fee, weight limit or indoor policy, and the hosts manage several cottages in town, not all of which take pets. The cottages

Guests describe the units as gorgeous and tranquil, with fully functional kitchens, plenty of fridge space, comfy beds and thoughtful added touches, including toys for kids. The setting is quiet despite being a short walk from the main street, and the wide verandahs give a dog somewhere to settle while you relax. It suits a couple or small family after a calm hinterland base within walking distance of town.

Getting there and parking

Maleny sits in the hinterland about 30 minutes inland from the Sunshine Coast beaches. Coral Street is a street back from the main Maple Street strip, with on-site parking at the cottage, and Brouhaha Brewery and the town's shops and cafes are all in walking distance.

Close by with the dogs

In town, Whit N Whimsy is the local dog-friendly cafe, and King Ludwig's German Restaurant is the town's dog-friendly dinner option. For a stretch of legs, Petrie Park's off-leash area in Nambour is the closest dedicated dog park, about twenty minutes down the range.
