Several booking sites flag these huts as pet-friendly, but the property's own terms and conditions say otherwise: animals are not allowed on the grounds because Grandview operates as a working farm. The same terms warn that bringing a pet terminates the accommodation contract immediately and without refund. There is no pet fee to negotiate, no exception to ask for. If you are travelling with a dog, book elsewhere and treat this listing as adults-only farm stay.

The vibe

The huts themselves are the appeal for humans: rustic settler-style timber cabins built for couples, with an outdoor bathtub, a fire pit and a small walking trail on the property, sitting on a working farm with wide views over the Dawesley valley.

Close by with the dogs

If you need a dog-friendly bed in the same patch of the Hills, look towards Mount Barker and Hahndorf, where caravan parks and cabin operators take dogs by arrangement. For a day stop, Mt Barker Barka Park Fenced Dog Park gives a secure run, and Woofside Fenced Dog Park at Nairne is close to Dawesley. For lunch on the way through, Britannia Kanmantoo is just up the road.

Pepsi: Some farm stays ban dogs for good reason, and livestock is the best reason there is. Leave me at the cabin park down the road and visit the huts for lunch plans instead.

Getting there and parking

Dawesley sits on the eastern side of the Adelaide Hills, about 10 minutes from Nairne and 15 from Mount Barker off the Princes Highway, roughly 50 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Each hut has its own parking at the door.
