Crystalbrook Collection

Crystalbrook Collection is the hotel group behind several Cairns properties, but only one of them takes dogs: Crystalbrook Bailey in the CBD. If you are booking under the Crystalbrook name and travelling with a dog, Bailey and its Residential Paws package is the property to ask for.

The dog setup

Dog-friendly stays run in selected first-floor Residences at Bailey, with one dog per residence, a 20kg weight limit and a $95-per-stay pet fee. The package includes a food and water bowl for the stay and a welcome treat.

House rules are standard five-star: dogs stay leashed in public areas, cannot be left alone in the room, and are kept out of the restaurants, gym and pool. Pet rooms are limited, so book the dog package in advance and confirm availability before you commit.

Max: ring the hotel after booking the package to double-check your room number is one of the pet Residences. Third-party sites sometimes sell the dog-friendly rate without checking room type, and you want that settled before check-in, not at the desk.

Worth knowing

Bailey is a five-star, art-filled hotel in central Cairns, and the practical appeal with a dog is the location: walking distance to the Esplanade, restaurants and shopping, so you can do the morning foreshore walk without starting the car. The group's other Cairns hotels are not set up for dogs.

Getting there

Bailey sits in the Cairns CBD, around ten minutes from the airport by car. Street and car park options surround the hotel, and the Esplanade is flat and walkable from the front door.

Close by with the dogs
