BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park

BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park sits at 1449 Calder Highway in Marong, about 15 minutes west of Bendigo, and it is unusual among family caravan parks in running purpose-built pet-friendly cabins. If you want a roof rather than a annex and a dog beside you, this is one of the few setups in the region that allows it.

The pet setup

Dogs stay only in designated pet-friendly cabins, available in deluxe and budget versions, many with fenced verandahs or decks so you get a contained outdoor space. You must call the park to register your dog at the time of booking, pet fees are not published so confirm any charge on that call, and dogs are not permitted in standard cabins or on the sites.

On the ground, dogs are on a lead around the park, never left unattended in the cabin, and kept out of the camp kitchen, pool and barbecue areas. There is a fenced off-leash exercise area for a proper run and an on-site dog wash for the post-Bendigo rinse.

Max: the fenced deck is the selling point with a dog that pines. Book the call first, because the pet cabins are a subset of stock and they go early on weekends.

The park

It is a full family operation: jumping pillow, pump track, camp kitchen, drive-through sites and clean amenities. That makes it a practical base for Bendigo day trips with a dog that is happy to travel.

Getting there

The park fronts the Calder Highway, so access from Bendigo or from Melbourne up the Calder is straightforward, with parking at your cabin. Central Bendigo is a 15 minute drive for cafes, the botanic gardens and the city walks.
