Location and nearby. You are within walking distance of Ford Street and the main shops, and a few minutes from some good on-lead walks. The 2km loop around Lake Sambell makes an easy morning stroll, the Gorge walk gives you a longer scenic option, and several cafes in town keep outdoor seating for dogs. The Beechworth Bakery is a reliable dog-friendly stop.

Before you book. Confirm the small-dog limit and the back-area-only rule when you book, especially if your dog is used to the run of the house. Good for couples with a calm small dog who want a heritage base in the middle of town.
