Tiny of Beechworth lives up to its name: a small specialty coffee nook at 14A Camp Street, right by the historic Town Hall in one of Victoria's best-preserved gold-rush towns. It is genuinely welcoming to dogs, but the room is small, so the footpath tables out front are where you and the dog settle. Expect a short, high-quality stop rather than a long sit-down brunch.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the small outdoor and footpath seating right beside the venue, close enough to the service counter that you are never far from your order. Inside is limited to people simply because of the size. The owners are dog people and their own dog is sometimes around, which tells you most of what you need to know. Bring your own water bowl, since one is not guaranteed, and note the footpath area is compact, so an off-peak weekday window is the relaxed option.

Coffee and jaffles

Coffee is the draw, widely rated among the best in Beechworth, alongside a tight menu of gourmet toasties and jaffles including a bacon and egg jaffle, a vegan toastie and ham and cheese croissants, with hot chocolate for the non-coffee crew. The vegan options are a real feature rather than an afterthought.

Getting there and hours

Find it at 14A Camp Street, highly walkable from central Beechworth. Street parking runs along Camp Street and there is a public car park behind the Town Hall a short stroll away. Hours are 7am to 12pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 12pm weekends, a morning-only operation, so plan the visit for breakfast or a late-morning coffee rather than lunch.

While you're out there

Baarmutha Park on Balaclava Road is the Indigo Shire off-leash spot for a run before coffee, with the rule across the shire being effective voice control in designated areas and leads everywhere else. Afterwards, walk Camp Street past the Town Hall and boutiques or take the green loop at Town Hall Gardens.
